My 'Diary of a Young Naturalist' cover design entry for the Penguin Book Cover Competition.
After reading the book I decided to focus on its themes of bird conservation and taking time to appreciate and notice the natural world around us. To bring these ideals together I created several illustrations of different birds mentioned and arranged them together to form a kaleidoscope type pattern. On first glance the viewer may not realise the birds within the image - but after looking closer the smaller details of the birds are revealed, in the same way the book explores looking closer at nature.
